The Royal St George's Golf Club

Amazing golf course, we went to see Day 3 of The Open. Great experience watching pro golf for the first time for me, and the whole set-up was great, with friendly, helpful staff from the car park to the marshalls on the course. Royal St George's is in a beautiful part of the country, and it was a pleasure to spend a day here. If i was going to try to be picky, the queues for food and drink were very long, but that was to be expected really. A wonderful experience of sport at the highest level, and a day I wont forget in a hurry!

I am not usually want to write reviews, having written only a handful in my entire life. Having said that, I felt the need to leave a review for Royal St George’s golf club as leading up to the date of my round, I was increasingly nervous on what I would experience after having read the negative previous reviews on here from a few years ago. I am pleased to say it is evident the club has taken the historic reviews on board, and they have made a huge attempt to make everybody, visitors and members alike welcome, as was the case for me today. I have dreamt of playing a round here ever since I began playing golf, however I never considered myself good enough to be able to enjoy the difficulty in which this course provides, and it certainly isn’t for the faint of heart. I have thoroughly enjoyed my day today, the caddiemaster/caddies were welcoming and encouraging, as was the starter who provided us some valuable information for getting us round the course in good standing. All staff were encouraging, and shared in the excitement that my group were experiencing stepping up to the first tee. I’d recommend anybody to come and play here, even just once.
